Nigar Shaji is a senior scientist at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). She is the project director of the Aditya-L1 mission, which is a solar mission that will study the Sun’s corona.
Shaji was born in Shengottai, Tamil Nadu, India. She received her bachelor’s degree in electronics and communication engineering from Tirunelveli Government Engineering College in 1987. She then went on to earn a master’s degree in electronics and communications from Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi in 1990.
